Who is responsible for your data
Kanstantsin Likhachou, a self-employed professional in Spain, is the controller for personal data processed through YouSave. For privacy questions or requests, email support@yousave.video. See the service operator details in the Terms of Service.
What we process and why
Accounts and libraries. We need an email address and password to create an account. We use your email, password hash and session information to provide sign-in, verification and password recovery. We store the bookmarks, categories, tags, notes and start times you save to your account so you can use them across devices. We process these data to provide the service you request. You can use a browser-local guest library without creating an account.
Collections and profiles. We store your drafts, covers, translations, profile details and sharing settings to provide editing and publishing. We store your saved collections and follow settings to provide those features. A guest library is copied to an account when you confirm the transfer.
Security, reports and support. We use technical request and error information, support correspondence and reports to operate and protect the service, prevent abuse and respond to issues. We rely on our legitimate interests in doing so, or on a legal obligation where one applies.
Language preference. The language cookie remembers which language to use for the site. When you create an account, we save your current language for emails. You can change your account language with the language selector while signed in.
Providers and external services
We host the website and account database in Estonia. We use hosting and email service providers to operate YouSave and send account messages such as email verification and password resets.
When you add a video, our server requests metadata from YouTube using the video identifier. Thumbnails can load directly from YouTube’s image servers, which receive the browser request and its IP address. Playback takes place on YouTube. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards it describes in its data transfer frameworks. See also Google’s privacy policy and Cookies & Storage.
What others can see and how long we keep data
Public collections and public curator profiles can be read and indexed. Anyone with a valid Unlisted link can read that collection. Changing access controls future access through YouSave. Copies already made by others remain outside our control.
We keep your account content while you have an account, subject to deletion of individual records. Export your library and authored collections before deleting your account. Account deletion removes your owned content from the active service. Browser-local bookmarks stay on the device. We keep minimal address reservations to prevent reuse of former published URLs.
Web server logs. The web server records incoming requests and errors. Logs rotate daily, with up to ten rotated files kept per log.
Backups. The website and database are backed up weekly. The backup plan keeps up to two copies on the server. Data removed from the live service may remain in an earlier backup until that copy is rotated out.
Application logs and support correspondence. We keep diagnostic records for as long as needed to investigate and resolve the relevant fault or security issue. We keep correspondence while a support request is open and for as long as needed to handle follow-up about that request. We may retain relevant records longer to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
Collection reports. Our cleanup schedule removes collection reports after 90 days and moderation records after 365 days.
Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent for optional processing at any time. Contact support@yousave.video to make a request. You can also complain to your data protection authority, including the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
