YOUR PERSONAL VIDEO LIBRARY
A simple YouTube bookmark manager.
Keep the video worth returning to. A title, a thumbnail and your own context make it easier to find when you need it.
01 / SAVE A REFERENCE
Keep the link while it is handy.
Collect references for a project, tutorials to try or talks to revisit. Individual bookmarks live in your personal library, separate from the collections you author for readers.
- Copy a YouTube watch URL, Shorts link or youtu.be link.
- Open your video library and choose Add video.
- Paste the link, choose a category if useful, and select Add video to retrieve its details.
The same video is saved once per library. Pasting another URL for an existing video does not create a second copy. The video must still be available on YouTube when you open it.
02 / FIND IT AGAIN
Search through what you remember.
Open the magnifying-glass search control. Enter words from a title, channel, tag or personal note. Select All videos to search across categories.
Search checks saved details, including the entire note. It does not search transcripts or the wider YouTube catalogue. Add a note in your own words when the title alone will not help you remember.
Use categories and tags for a growing library, or a manual start time for one useful explanation.
03 / BUILD ON YOUR PICKS
A bookmark can be the beginning.
A few good references can become a collection with a purpose: add sections, write introductions and guide a reader through your selection. Creating a collection does not automatically publish personal bookmark notes.
Guest bookmarks stay in this browser. An account gives you a separate server-stored library. Use Import / Export → Download JSON for a copy of your video records; read the storage and backup guide before moving browsers.
GOOD TO KNOW
Frequently asked questions
Can I save videos without subscribing to a channel?
Yes. YouSave saves individual links without subscribing. YouTube Watch Later also supports saving without subscribing.
Can I import a YouTube playlist?
Add video links individually. JSON import accepts a YouSave backup, not a YouTube playlist or Google Takeout file.
Do I need a browser extension?
No. Copy the video link and paste it into Add video. A browser extension is not required or currently provided.
Are the videos stored offline?
No. YouSave keeps bookmark records. Playback opens on YouTube; a JSON backup contains no video files.
