YOUTUBE TIMESTAMP BOOKMARKS

Save a YouTube video at a specific time.

Keep the moment you came for: the worked example, a technique or the next step in a long tutorial.

Start at the useful part.Enter a time manually and reopen the video on YouTube at that moment.

01 / PICK A MOMENT

Choose where the video opens.

  1. Save a video in your personal library.
  2. Choose the clock or time control on its card.
  3. Enter mm:ss, such as 12:45, or h:mm:ss, such as 1:02:30.
  4. Choose Save time. Opening the video now takes you to YouTube at that point.

You choose this time manually. Watching does not advance it. Reopen the dialog to replace it, or use Clear time or save a blank field to return to the beginning.

02 / KEEP THE REASON

A time is more useful with context.

Each personal bookmark has one saved start time. Add a personal note such as “12:45 — repeat this worked example before the next class.” The note holds the explanation; the separate time control sets the playback link.

The time stays with the video when you change its category and is included in JSON export. The video still needs to be available on YouTube. A bookmark does not preserve an offline clip.

03 / GUIDE SOMEONE ELSE

Name the moments in a collection.

An authored collection can give a video several named timestamp cues: “The setup,” “First attempt” and “What to change.” Readers can choose the explanation they need without guessing from a bare time.

Personal saved times and collection cues are separate. Preview your collection to check its cues, then publish the saved draft when you want readers to see them. Try the editorial example to see a reading route.
