CREATE A YOUTUBE COLLECTION

Create a video collection worth sharing.

Choose the videos. Add the connections. Give someone a clear way into a subject, with your notes, sections and the moments that matter.

The video is the starting point. Your context makes it useful.Add a section, explain your choice and give useful moments a name. Original creators stay credited.

01 / GIVE IT A PURPOSE

Make a route someone can follow.

A drawing course, an introduction to a new tool, a research reading list: a collection turns good links into a guided sequence. Your original context explains why each video belongs and what to do next.

  1. Sign in, open My collections and choose New collection.
  2. Write a title and description that say who it is for.
  3. Add videos from your saved library or by individual YouTube link.
  4. Add sections, introductions, standalone text and per-video notes. Arrange them in the order a reader needs.

Personal bookmark notes are not automatically copied into published context. Write the collection notes you want readers to see. Look through Learn to see, our editorial example, for a finished route.

02 / MAKE THE DETAILS USEFUL

Point to the part that matters.

Add named timestamp cues such as “The first exercise” or “Common mistakes.” Write a short next step beside a video so a reader can put it into practice. Sections can nest when a subject needs smaller steps.

Choose cover videos, or use the appearance controls to set a cover and reading theme. Save your changes and choose Preview to read the saved draft, follow its contents list and check its YouTube links.

A collection stores links and your authored context. It does not download videos; playback stays on YouTube. The original creator and video title remain visible.

03 / PUBLISH WITH INTENTION

Your draft is yours until you share it.

A new collection is Private. Saving and previewing do not publish it. Choose Unlisted to share a secret link, or Public to publish through your Public profile. See sharing and access for the exact choices.

Readers see a published snapshot. Later edits stay in your draft until you choose Publish public changes or publish the Unlisted changes. Use Make private to close shared access.

Readers can save the collection and separately follow new videos. You can opt into collection analytics to understand page visits and outbound clicks.

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to create a collection?

Yes. Collections are stored in your account. Personal browser-local video bookmarks remain available without signing in.

Does saving a draft update the shared collection?

No. Readers keep seeing the published snapshot until you explicitly publish your saved changes. Preview shows the saved draft.

Can I keep a collection off my public profile?

Yes. Keep it Private for yourself, or publish Unlisted for anyone with the secret link. Only currently Public collections appear on your profile.

How is this different from a YouTube playlist?

YouTube playlists group and order videos. YouSave collections add nested sections, standalone text, per-video notes and named timestamp cues in a separate reading view.
