CHOOSE FOR THE TASK

Where do you want the videos to lead?

Watch Later fits a quick queue while you are already on YouTube. Custom playlists fit topic-based selections you want to organize and watch inside YouTube, with ordering and visibility choices already built in.

YouSave bookmarks fit a separate reference library with your categories, tags, personal notes and chosen start times. Guest use needs no Google account connection. The save for later guide starts with one link.

YouSave collections fit a course, introduction or research route where your explanation is part of the value. Explore a finished example, then create a collection with sections and notes. Readers can save the current publication and separately opt into new-video updates.

BRING THE USEFUL LINKS

Start with one video.

  1. Open a video from Watch Later or a playlist and copy its individual link.
  2. Paste it into Add video in your personal library, or add the link in your collection editor.
  3. Add the note or manual timestamp that makes it useful.

There is no YouTube playlist import. YouSave does not connect to your YouTube account automatically. Video links are added individually. You can keep using your existing YouTube queue alongside it.

Google offers account-data export through Google Takeout. YouSave JSON is a separate backup format and does not import Takeout files. Read storage and backup before moving a library.

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

Is YouSave a replacement for YouTube?

No. It organizes links and authored context. Videos, playback and availability remain on YouTube.

Does YouTube already organize videos and resume playback?

Yes. Custom playlists organize videos, and YouTube can resume playback using watch history. Choose based on whether you need that workflow or a separate authored guide.

Can I use both?

Yes. Keep a watching queue inside YouTube and use YouSave for personal references or a collection with your own reading context.

Does YouSave track my watch progress?

No. Bookmark start times are chosen manually. Collection analytics measures page visits and outbound clicks, not YouTube watches.
