PERSONAL YOUTUBE VIDEO NOTES
Keep personal notes on YouTube videos.
Write the takeaway in your own words. Keep the question, exercise or next step beside the video that prompted it.
01 / WRITE IT DOWN
One video. Your own context.
- Save a video, then choose Note on its card.
- Write a plain-text note of up to 5,000 characters.
- Choose Save note. The highlighted Note control and dot show that text is saved.
- Open Note again to read, edit or clear the text.
Try “Use the folding method for Saturday’s dough” or “Compare this interview checklist with our research plan.” Each video has one personal note; you can update it as your ideas change.
02 / SEARCH YOUR WORDS
Find the entire note.
Open library search and enter a word you wrote. Search checks the entire note alongside titles, channels and tags, even when note text is hidden on the card. Choose All videos to search beyond the active category.
YouSave does not retrieve transcripts or generate summaries. You write the context manually. A time written in a note is text; use the separate saved-time control to set where playback opens.
03 / DECIDE WHAT TO SHARE
Personal notes stay personal.
Your bookmark Note is separate from the notes you author inside a collection. Adding a saved video to a collection does not automatically publish its personal note. Write and review the context you want readers to see in the collection editor.
Readers only see that collection’s published snapshot. A saved draft remains separate until you explicitly publish changes.
Personal notes and tags are included in video-library JSON export. Importing a duplicate video keeps the existing note. Guest notes can be lost if browser data is cleared; the storage and backup guide explains your options.
