COLLECTION ANALYTICS
See how readers use your collection.
See which parts lead readers onward. Opt into a report of collection interactions, with clear limits on what the numbers can tell you.
01 / START RECORDING
Turn statistics on for your collection.
- Open My collections, choose your collection and save any draft changes.
- Open Analytics, then Recording settings.
- Explicitly enable statistics for the published Public or Unlisted collection, when recording is available.
- Choose the last 7, 30 or 90 days. Dates are shown in UTC; View daily data opens the table behind the chart.
Statistics start off for every collection. Enabling recording does not create data for earlier visits. The report belongs to the author; it is not a public audience counter.
02 / READ THE METRICS
Openings and clicks, with their limits.
Visits are recorded page openings. Refreshing can create another opening; the number is not unique visitors. Outbound clicks count a video or timestamp target at most once per opening. They show a move toward YouTube, not an actual YouTube view or completed watch.
Engaged visits have at least one recorded outbound click. The engagement rate is their share of recorded visits. New saves and Notify opt-ins count actions during the period, not unique people.
Popular videos, moments and sections help you see where readers choose to go. Source categories and configured campaign names can give context, but a missing referrer leaves the source unknown. The report does not identify individual readers.
03 / USE THE SIGNAL
Improve the route, then review again.
If a section gets openings but few outbound clicks, read its introduction and check the links before drawing a conclusion. A clear next step or a named cue may help someone decide where to begin. Analytics cannot tell you whether a lesson was understood.
Your own reader visits, previews, basic bots and browser privacy opt-outs are excluded from reader recording. Blocked requests and network failures can reduce counts. No exact unique-visitor or YouTube viewing measurement is offered.
Turning recording off stops new events and keeps the available history. Making a collection Private resets its recording choice; publishing it again requires a fresh opt-in. Reports cover up to 90 days. You can continue editing the collection and publish changes separately.
GOOD TO KNOW
Frequently asked questions
Are outbound clicks YouTube views?
No. They record a link action from the collection. They do not confirm playback, watch time or completion on YouTube.
Can I see unique visitors or who read the collection?
No. Visits are page openings, not unique people. The report does not identify individual readers.
Is collection analytics automatic?
No. The author must explicitly enable it for each published collection, and recording must be available on the service.
Can I get an author email summary?
Account Email settings includes a separate Weekly author summary opt-in. External email delivery is not enabled yet; analytics can be read in the app.
