Organize your YouTube videos by topic.

For a design project, try a Design category with tags such as typography, accessibility and research. Each video has one category at a time and up to 20 tags. Videos with no category appear in Uncategorized.

1. Use the plus control by the category tabs to create a topic.
2. Use the category control on a video card, select its topic and save.
3. Choose Tags on a card. Press Enter or separate tags with commas; suggestions come from your library.
4. Select a category tab to focus the list. Choose All videos to see everything.

Open search and type words from the title, channel, tags or note. Search includes the entire note, even though its text is hidden on the card. The active category still limits your results.

If a video is missing from the results, clear the query or select All videos. Add a plain-text note for the next step you want to take, or a saved start time for the relevant explanation.

Rename a topic by selecting its tab, opening Edit category and saving the new name. Its videos keep their assignment. Deleting a category keeps the videos and moves them to Uncategorized.

Categories organize your personal bookmarks. To arrange a sequence for other people, create an authored collection with sections and reading notes. Personal categories and notes are not automatically public.

Categories, tags, notes and saved times are included in your video-library JSON backup. Importing a duplicate video keeps the existing record.
